Cape Town

An Investment Manager based in Cape Town is seeking to employ a Head of Business Solutions.

The purpose of the Head: Business Solutions role, is to be responsible for building the overarching investment marketing strategy for the different client segments within the multi manager, the product management of the Retail Implemented Consulting (DFM - Discretionary Fund Management) value proposition and for Technical Support to the Distribution Strategy of the DFM.

Minimum Requirements & Experience

    • Undergraduate degree (BusSci, BCom, Finance or Actuarial Science)
    • CFA/CFP would be advantageous
    • A minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience within Asset/Multi/Discretionary Fund Management or within a Product development area within a LISP
    • Proven track record in managing a "solution set" or product within a LISP or Asset Manager (including MM or DFM as well)
  • BCom or equivalent with 7 years related experience.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • DFM Product Management:
    • Building and future proofing the DFM value proposition, including propositions such as offshore, Fund of Fund (FoF) and Delegated Investment Services (DIS) within the greater multi management business
    • Driving and Co-creating Solution development around the accumulation and post retirement phase of the client life cycle, with the company’s: MM Investment and Distribution teams
    • Maintaining the relationships with all partners, including company’s subsidiaries and external LISPs
    • Streamlining the operational capabilities around Reporting, LISP operations and client on boarding
  • Technical Support to the DFM Distribution units, specifically focusing on:
    • Assistance with positioning the full value proposition including practice management, investment consulting and servicing strategy within the intermediary practices to our different distribution teams
      • This would include the propositioning behind the company’s: MM Best Investment View
    • Presentations and one on one engagements with our preferred DFM partner intermediaries
  • Investment Marketing for the greater company’s: MM Business:
    • Collaborating with Marketing, Distribution and Investments to build the content strategy which includes the decisions around and the execution of:
      • Client Segmentation
      • Investment Content
      • Which channels to utilise to Market
  • Team Management:
    • Management of the product specialist team, who are ultimately responsible for the building and execution of the investment marketing strategy of the Multi Manager (MM) Business
      • This would include setting the strategy for the team
      • Creating the key result areas
      • Making sure the strategy is executed within the desired timeframe by each of the product specialists
      • Managing the day to day workflow
